How JP Name handles information for the iOS app, backend services, AI generation, purchase verification, feedback, and support.
This Privacy Policy explains how JP Name handles information when you use the JP Name iOS app and related backend services. JP Name provides Japanese name generation, name reports, ranking references, history, favorites, feedback, diagnostics, device integrity checks, purchase verification, and purchase restoration.
We process only information needed to provide, secure, and improve the service: app language and preference settings; name generation inputs; generated requests and results; favorites, reactions, and feedback; installation identifiers and device integrity signals used for fraud prevention and quota enforcement; purchase records such as product identifiers, transaction identifiers, signed App Store transaction data, and restore status; and technical diagnostics such as app version, request identifiers, error categories, and network status. JP Name does not request your precise location, contacts, photos, microphone, camera, health data, or advertising identifier.
When you submit a generation request, the information in that request is sent to JP Name servers and may be processed by third-party AI model providers acting as service providers. Do not include sensitive personal information in free-form notes unless it is necessary for your request.
We use information to generate and display names, keep task history and favorites available, enforce free or paid quotas, verify App Store purchases, prevent abuse and automated misuse, troubleshoot errors, respond to feedback, maintain security, and comply with legal obligations.
After the initial free generation uses are exhausted, you may choose to watch a Google AdMob rewarded video for one standard generation, up to 10 successful rewards per installation per UTC day, or use Pro instead. A reward is issued only after the ad is completed and Google server-side verification succeeds. The Google Mobile Ads SDK and User Messaging Platform (UMP) may process IP-derived coarse location, device and app identifiers, advertising data, ad interactions, consent choices, performance data, crash logs, and other diagnostics to deliver, measure, secure, and personalize or limit advertising as permitted. JP Name records a one-time reward session, Google transaction identifier, reward status, and related timestamps to verify the reward and prevent duplicates or abuse, but does not send your name or generation inputs to Google for advertising. This release does not request App Tracking Transparency permission or access IDFA. Where required, UMP presents consent choices; you can revisit them from My > Privacy Options in the app. We do not sell personal information.
We share information only with service providers needed to operate JP Name, such as hosting, database, queue, security, AI processing, and App Store purchase verification providers; with Apple when required for App Store transactions; and with authorities or other parties when required by law or to protect users, JP Name, or the public.
Information may be stored on your device and on backend systems used by JP Name. Server-side requests, generated results, installation records, purchase records, feedback, and diagnostics are kept only for as long as reasonably needed for service delivery, security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, dispute handling, or backup recovery, then deleted or de-identified.
You can choose not to provide optional generation inputs. You can remove local data by deleting the app. You may request access, correction, deletion, or other rights available under applicable law by using My > Contact and feedback in the app or by contacting support.
JP Name is not directed to children under 13 or the minimum age required in your region. If you enter information about another person, you confirm that you have permission or another lawful basis to do so.

The free web assessment does not save the name you submit or its report. To enforce one assessment per device per minute and prevent automated abuse, JP Name sets an anonymous first-party HttpOnly device cookie that can remain for up to one year. A salted hash of the request IP address is kept only as a short-lived rate-limit event; the raw IP address is not stored in that event.
